So France Duo

I love the food here.. simple, authentic French bistro fare done right and at a reasonable price. They have also renovated this Duo outlet and carved out an all-day-dining even more casual cafe section that open from 7am! Excellent service too from Pierre and team, already looking for to my next meal there.

I've always visited the café whenever I'm in the area, just for the delicious chicken mayo sandwich. I don't know how they make it but it's SO SO good! the coffee here never disappoints & is so affordable considering it's in town area. BIG shoutout to barista Rae who I met recently who is always so friendly & serves with a big smile. it's hard to find genuine, warm hospitality these days in SG but she really made me and my partner's day & with her humour & small conversations! might go back again to try their restaurant menu instead!

Very authentic galette , you have a wide variety to choose from such as baked ham , chicken and salmon. The egg yolk was not over cooked and was oozy . I had the baked ham and it was pretty fulfilling , I thought I would be hungry after a few hours and it kept me full to beyond dinner time. They have good variety of wine to select from.

Decent portion, farce for the Pate en Croute is done quite alright, good amount of fat & foie, the outer pastry didnt feel like a dough for some reason, felt like a dense semi soft cheese. Wine selection is good as expected from a French establishment; decently priced Burgundy & Bordeaux labels. Riesling had good amount of fruit & acid which paired fairly well with the Pate. Update: Tried the Croque Madame paired with the Savigny les Beaune; such a generous portion size for the Croque and great flavors from the bechamel and the cheese. The wine had good amount of acidity and fruit forward character given the slight age on it, would love to return to try more wines!

I recently dined at SO France and had a mixed experience. The food was decent, nothing extraordinary but still enjoyable. The highlight of my visit was definitely the boss, who was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome. However, I found that the service staff seemed a bit detached, putting on a face that didn’t quite match the warm atmosphere the boss created. Additionally, I was bitten by mosquitoes twice during my meal, which really distracted me and spoiled the dining experience as I spent much of my time looking out for them. Overall, it’s a solid spot with potential, just needs a bit of attention to detail in service and pest control.

Wanted to try the Bouchet Mussels currently in season... unfortunately, delivery is on Thursday. Had a Negroni cocktail ($22) - very well made. Bread served was the hard crust variety. Very nice contrasting flavours from the two different breads. It was peculiar, that a butter knife was not provided, and the server indicated that I could use my mains knife. I asked for a smaller knife and was provided the one pictured, in contrast to the mains knife. The Braised Lamb Shank ($38) was flavoursone and tender (meat was firm, not fall off bone, but had a pleasant texture and flavour). Overall, a good dish in terms of flavour and portion size for the price. The Ratatouille ($12) was to expectation. Weekday night, so less than half the tables were occupied by a mix of French speaking, Japanese and some locals. Nice decor and overall ambience to have a relatively quiet meal.

Tried their daily sandwiches at SoFrance and I’m super impressed! They have a special one for each day of the week – Monday: Chicken Cajun Kick, Tuesday: Naaaasty Beef, Wednesday: Char Siew Charm, Thursday: Chix Schnitz Crunch, and Friday: Porky Mi. All of them were flavorful, fresh, and absolutely yummy. Such a fun concept to look forward to a different taste each day. The staff were friendly and welcoming too, making the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back for more – highly recommend!

Went here for lunch yesterday with five girlfriends to celebrate two birthdays, and we had such a lovely time. We ordered the duck hash, goat cheese salad and fish burgers for mains. All of them were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. They also served us freshly baked sourdough with French butter on the side (I’m obsessed with their Le Gall salted butter, which you can apparently buy from their grocery shop!). The staff made the birthday celebration really special by arranging two desserts with candles, and they even surprised us with a complimentary dish, their famous savoury crêpe which isn’t on the menu. Everything tasted amazing, and the service throughout was attentive and warm. Only small note is that water was charged at $2 per person (free flow), even though we asked for tap. Overall it didn’t take away from what was a really wonderful experience.
